OUR BENEFICIARIES

We support Orbit Housing Association’s Care and Repair projects by helping clients (who are usually elderly or disabled) with home improvements or the installation of disabled facilities. We are also involved with the Association’s Supported Housing Projects which cater for residents with a variety of special needs. The client groups vary from people with mental health
problems to older people and young homeless people or families in crisis.

As well as the monies given by Orbit Housing Association, the Trust has other funds which can be used for any purpose within its objects. Click here for information about how we can help other trusts.

In addition to awarding grants to applicants, the Trust also acts as Corporate Trustee for two almshouse properties in Kettering (Edmund Sawyer Almshouses) and provides community alarms to vulnerable people on a rental basis. Both of these projects are managed on our behalf by Orbit Housing Association.

Monitoring calls from community alarms 24 hours a day

HOW DECISIONS ARE MADE

Applications for grants are made to the Secretary and considered by the Trustees at their quarterly meetings. In cases of urgency, grants are also approved outside of the meeting cycle by the Trustees under a scheme of delegated authority.
